Handmade torans for your main door

Kundan, gota-patti, pearl and floral torans made by hand in small batches. Each piece is ready to hang, and most can be made in your colours for weddings, griha pravesh and festivals.

How to choose a toran for your main door

Measure the width of the door frame before you order. A toran usually looks best when it covers the full width of the frame or hangs a little short of it, with side latkans (if included) running down each side.

Think about where the door is. An outside door that gets sun and rain does better with kundan, metal or gota pieces than with soft fabric flowers, which last longest indoors or under a covered porch.

Kundan, gota, lotus or evil eye?

Kundan and meenakari torans are rich and traditional, and suit Diwali, griha pravesh and wedding homes. Gota-patti and pom-pom torans are lighter and brighter, which is why families pick them for haldi and mehendi.

Lotus cutout torans feel festive without being heavy, and evil eye torans add protection symbolism with a modern look. If you are decorating for a wedding, choose one style for the main door and match the hangings and tealights to it.

Hanging and storing your toran

Every toran has loops or rings at both ends. Two small nails or adhesive hooks at the top corners of the frame are enough. After the festival, fold it loosely with tissue between the layers and store it flat in a box so the stones and flowers keep their shape for next year.
